Each quartz pyramid delivers a crystalline purity, immersing listeners in a multi-layered harmonic experience. When spun, the instrument generates an acoustic vibrato, unveiling a fresh take on harmonics, fundamental tones, and beat frequencies.
MNTRA’s innovative ultrasonic sampling techniques make these instruments a multidimensional powerhouse within MNDALA 2, with access to an extended octave range and hidden frequencies that go beyond the physical realm. Using Extended Range Audio (E.R.A.), MNTRA has stretched samples to capture slower wave fluctuations and subtle tonal movements, resulting in polyphonic textures that would be impossible to physically replicate. The Sample Start Modulation (SSM) function also adds dynamic, ever-evolving sound variation, allowing players to explore the instrument’s full expressive potential.
Artistic Collaboration
This project owes its depth to collaborations with two visionary artists. Composer Christopher LaRosa—an owner of several physical pyramids—brought his extensive experience to the recording sessions, inspiring new ways to expand the instrument’s tonal range and helping to refine its sonic landscape. His unique insights into arrangement were crucial in shaping Pyramids' distinct sound.
Joining him, sound healer Steffen Ki enriched the project with his expertise in sound healing, creating custom presets that maximize Pyramids' therapeutic properties. His long-standing use of MNTRA instruments, combined with his mastery of MNDALA 2, revealed new ways to channel Pyramids' resonant power for healing and relaxation.
Each sample was recorded with meticulous precision, capturing both internal and external perspectives in specialized studios. From delicate resonances to the intense vibrational energy of a cracked pyramid, every sound is rendered with exquisite detail.
