Heritage Audio MIX BUDDY 19-Input Small-Format Mixer
The MIX BUDDY is an instrument-focused analog desktop mixer designed to bring synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, guitars, basses, microphones, and line-level sources together without relying on multiple DI boxes or utility mixers. Its 19-input architecture uses audiophile-grade Toshiba 2SK JFET circuitry to preserve the character, dynamics, and detail of connected instruments.
Eight high-gain inputs are arranged as four stereo pairs and provide 12dB of gain for passive instruments, vintage keyboards, and lower-output sources. These channels add subtle JFET character and can produce smooth saturation when driven. Six unity-gain inputs are arranged as three stereo pairs and offer a cleaner, more transparent path for active instruments, modern synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers.
Each instrument channel includes stereo or mono operation, along with a Thru function for sending the connected source to an amplifier, effects chain, recording system, or front-of-house console while keeping it in the main mix. A balanced stereo line input accommodates audio interfaces, computers, and other professional line-level sources.
The microphone channel provides a dedicated XLR input with phantom power and integrates directly with the stereo auxiliary loop. Individual auxiliary sends and pre-fader or post-fader operation make it easy to incorporate external processors and effects pedals into a complete hardware setup.
Three independent output paths provide flexible routing for studio monitors, headphones, recording systems, and live sound. The transformer-balanced main output is inspired by Heritage Audio’s 73 DI circuitry and can operate at microphone or line level, while a second main output provides a clean transformerless signal path.
