Melbourne Instruments has released a new version of Roto-Setup, bringing expanded compatibility and improved workflow for Roto-Control users. This update ensures smoother integration with major DAWs and is recommended for all current users of the controller.
Expanded DAW Compatibility
The latest version of Roto-Setup now supports the following digital audio workstations:
-
Ableton Live
-
Bitwig Studio
-
Logic Pro
This expanded compatibility makes it easier for producers and performers to integrate Roto-Control into a wide range of music production environments, whether you're producing in the studio or performing live.
Minimum Requirements
To ensure the update runs properly, users should confirm their software meets the following minimum versions:
-
Logic Pro 10.7
-
Bitwig Studio 5.3.8
Updating your DAW to these versions (or newer) will ensure full functionality with the latest Roto-Setup release.
Important: Back Up Before Updating
Before installing the firmware update, Melbourne Instruments strongly recommends backing up your current Roto-Control configuration.
You can do this using the “EXPORT ALL” function in the Roto-Setup app, which saves all presets and settings. Taking this step ensures you can easily restore your setup if needed after updating.
Linux Support Information
While Bitwig Studio itself supports Linux, technical support for Linux systems is handled directly by Bitwig.
Melbourne Instruments does not provide technical support for Linux users. For help with Bitwig Studio on Linux or controller extension topics, users should refer to the resources available at bitwig.com.
Recommended Update for All Users
Overall, this Roto-Setup release improves compatibility and ensures that Roto-Control continues to work seamlessly with modern production setups. If you’re using Roto-Control with Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, or Logic Pro, installing this update will help you maintain a stable and optimized workflow.
