Analog drum synthesis has always been a cornerstone of our design philosophy, exemplified by the nearly 30-year success of the DRM1. Produced in our Elektroakustische Manufaktur in Erlbach since the mid-1990s, the DRM1 remains a testament to enduring analog design.
With BASS DRUM, we bring the foundational sound of the KICK and DRUM channels from the DRM1 to the Eurorack format. The circuitry has been refined for the modular environment, resulting in a sound generator that retains its classic character while greatly expanding its capabilities.
BASS DRUM offers extensive modulation options for unparalleled flexibility. Parameters such as oscillator pitch, decay time, and the integrated wave shaper are all controllable via external voltages. This enables dynamic variations, from rhythmically shifting between long and short kicks to creating tonal changes with waveform modulation.
The DYNAMIC input lets you control the impact of your trigger source on the internal circuitry. This doesn’t just adjust volume—it introduces nuanced changes in the sound, adding expressiveness to your performance.
