Boredbrain Music’s Transmutron lets users combine their favorite effects pedals and eurorack modules into a cornucopia of pure sonic bliss. The unit features three modes: Fission, Fusion, and Fallout. The first mode, Fission, is a crossover filter; Fusion is a crossfader, and Fallout is a resonant filter.
In Fission mode, Transmutron splits an incoming audio signal into individual frequency bands, which can then be routed into different effects then recombined into one or two outputs. Here, its split point parameter can be controlled manually or remotely via expression pedal or CV.
Fusion mode is a different story. Here, Transmutron is reconfigured to behave like a pre-FX crossfader in lieu of splitting the signal into separate bands. The result is much less extreme than the former mode, allowing for smoother modulation.
Finally, Fallout causes the Transmutron to apply a resonant filter to each pre-FX channel signal. All of this and more is possible with the Transmutron.
